Up until today

We left Michigan on Tuesday, 12/26/06 for Tampa to pick up our new motorhome. We drove down in our Jeep Liberty....certainly not the Lexus comfort, but we arrived in Tampa just before noon on Thursday the 28th. We stayed there at the dealership in their RV park over New Year's weekend, and left there on Wednesday the 3rd. Brian drove the coach, and I followed behind in the Jeep. We had walkie talkies to keep in communication. He did very well, and we arrived at Sun N Fun RV Resort an hour later....Sarasota is only 60 miles south of LazyDays RV dealership.

This is a huge rv park. I think there are about 1600 sites, but about 75% of the sites have dwellings on them the size of a trailer home. People who don't have motorhomes will fly down for the winter and stay in these. However, they have to buy the building, and then there are fees that are about $7000 annually.

There are so many activities that we can join in on, that we wouldn't be able to do them all. I have attended a quilting group that meets on Monday afternoons. I took a couple of my applique quilts as a "Newbie Show N Tell" -- I was a hit. Brian hasn't joined in any of the activities, but he reads the manuals and his newspapers with great diligence! My hero!! The coch is so full of gadgets, and it talkes a long time to go through all those manuals, again and again!

We have 6 families that we try to see while we are here: Thams, Giffels, Brereton, deAth, Ruckle, and Wood. We have met with them all, and it was good to see them and chat.

We will leave Sarasota next week on Wednesday morning to go to LazyDays to have some coach issues completed, then off heading west.

Sure hope that Highway 10 has thawed out by the time we get there. Please hold us in your thoughts. If it is nasty, we'll just change direction. Not sure where that direction will head, but it will certainly be warm!!

I will be attaching pictures on the next entry.
